“Happiness is the Way” comes to Fort Collins and Denver!

(UPDATED August 11) This summer, three brothers from Deer Park Monastery will travel 4500 miles to visit Sanghas in ten western states, in the “Happiness is the Way: Road Retreat.” Two of their stops will be in Colorado: a three-day retreat in Fort Collins on August 20-22 (Friday to Sunday), and a single evening in Denver on Monday, August 23.

Both events are free, though if you are able to do so, donations are welcomed. However, you MUST REGISTER for the Ft. Collins event by Friday, August 13, at noon MDT in order to attend (it is almost “sold out” already). You MUST REGISTER for the Denver event by August 18.  You also MUST BE VACCINATED to attend either event and must wear a mask. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of response to this event, we cannot guarantee that everyone who registers will be able to attend.

1. The event in Fort Collins will be held August 20-22. We will gather at the Innosphere in Fort Collins at 320 East Vine Street. You can register here.

2. The special Denver event on August 23 will be held at the University Park United Methodist Church, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm (the same place that Eyes of Compassion has met in the past). You can register here.

More information on location and timing will be included in your registration confirmation.

The “Happiness is the Way: Road Retreat” is a wonderful opportunity to practice as a many-fold Sangha; to get to know one other; and to learn, grow, transform and water wholesome seeds in each another. It’s also a good opportunity for newcomers to find out about the Plum Village Tradition and Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings, so encourage your friends to come. Meeting a monastic brother or sister—seeing their embodied practice and hearing their loving and wise words—is a wonderful way to learn about Thich Nhat Hanh and our practice.

You can see the full schedule here. If you have questions, please email Christina Walker or the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation staff at events@tnhf.org or call her at (941) 218-0103.
